Random Updates, Part 1

I guess I am back. I have had a lot to say but didn’t really want to. I haven’t blogged in two months. If you missed it, my last post prior to today is over at In My Skin entitled Raising a…

To Whom It May Concern…

Some of you have been inquiring about my recent silence and I feel the need to clear the air a bit.

Off topic: In my air Warm Vanilla Sugar scented candle.

Anyway, some of you seem to not…

MacHeist Bundle

I just bought the bundle for $39. I just couldn’t resist LittleSnapper and Delicious Library 2. It was just too good a deal to pass up.

Tweet Buddy "T"

I have a new Twitter friend that has been making me think about relationships a lot… My views, wants, needs, fantasies and realities. She’s been a comfort, though she reminds me of how lonely I am… It’s been a long time… She has also a great boost to my esteem.

Ubiquity

This is one of my favorite Firefox add-ons.

Ubiquity

It’s like Quicksilver on the Mac for the browser. It allows you to search terms in Google, dictionary, wikipedia, send emails, convert selections to pdf, rich text or html and is further extensible via command feeds. You can even search locations via Google maps and photos Flickr. You can do all this without leaving your keyboard.

If you use shortcuts or just plain find it easier to do things without having to reach for a mouse sometimes, give Ubiquity a shot.

Next Steps

I have been wondering a lot lately, what can I do next. I haven’t been doing too well, I guess, even worse than some might think because I can’t get my thoughts together. I am not procrastinating, but I too easily distracted as of late.

I don’t consider my situation completely hopeless. Even if I am not living very well, I have the opportunity to survive as a consultant. First, I need to put a Powerpoint template together with a style guide, it doesn’t even have to be anything very detailed. I just have to put something together that demonstrates my ability.

I just can’t focus. I started, aside from environment setup, I only put like 10-15 minutes in.

Maybe, I need to dig deeper into this on I Don’t Know!.

A Wild Series of Dreams

This morning, I had two really crazy dreams that I can remember. The first of which, I was text messaging one of my new twitter “friends.” I haven’t and, at the moment, don’t intend to speak to her like that. At least, it isn’t something I would pursue.

The second, was really crazy. I was walking up / down a city block. I am not sure where I was. It was, I guess, a recipe of my subconscious. I was with Rik. As we were walking, a man passes with a baby in a carrier. A few seconds pass, we look back and he is kneeling in a semi-circle of fire. Rik and I rush over to save the baby. This guy is fighting fiercely. After this, I don’t remember seeing the baby, he is still wearing the carrier. We are struggling to restrain the man… This is where it gets really crazy, the man pulls a thread from my shirt and ignites it… While we are holding him, dragging him as far from where we last saw the baby, trying to find the police… He is attempting to touch our clothes with his, so that they may combust. We finally make it around the corner and a few doors down, we see some cops picking up some food. There is a cashier, standing alone in the large empty space that makes up the front of the store, the area where the officers are paying for their meal is really small. We were trying to avoid going into the store. The cashier refuses to get the cops and they don’t seem to see us struggling with this man, but she opens the first door to let us in…

And this is where I wake up.

I have been setting up my new MacBook Pro (MBP) for the last few days… I love it! I love it! I love it! I am not quite done yet, ran into some Time Capsule and Mobile Me issues, but otherwise all is well.

I still have to find my Windows Vista install disk, get the Windows 7 *.iso files I downloaded from my brother’s Inspiron, then I can set up my virtual machines.

My machine is wonderful… runs nice and smooth… I can’t wait to start putting some stuff together. First some job related stuff then some fun stuff.
